Gia confidently sang on the stage of the Blossom Clubs
When you meet Gia, a seventh grader with a gentle smile and determined eyes, it’s hard to imagine that just a few years ago, she was the quiet girl who rarely spoke up in class.
Growing up in a remote area, Gia faced more challenges than most her age. Her father passed away early, and her mother, living with heart disease, works tirelessly to support the family. At school, Gia used to sit in the back of the classroom, afraid to raise her hand or share her thoughts. “I was scared I’d say something wrong,” she remembers.

Everything began to change when Gia joined HSCV’s Blossom Club. Through weekly sessions on communication, leadership, self-care, and soft skills, she slowly found her voice. With each activity, her confidence bloomed. She began speaking up in class, volunteering for new roles, and eventually ran for class monitor - and won.
Her proudest moment came at Family Day, when she stood before more than 70 parents, sang a song, and shared her story with pride. “Now, I know my voice matters,” she said with a smile that lit up the room.

Today, Gia is also a scholarship recipient through HSCV’s Youth Investment Program, allowing her to continue her studies and pursue her dream of becoming an English teacher. She practices daily, watching English movies, reading books, and helping her classmates, hoping one day to inspire other children just as she has been inspired.
On Give to the Max Day, your gift will create more success stories just like Gia’s. Together, we can ensure every children has the chance to step forward with courage.
