As you rush to finalize your goals and celebrate the calendar turning to January 1st, families across Vietnam are beginning their countdown to the Lunar New Year on February 17th.
Although the dates are different, the heart of the season is the same. It is a time for wrapping up the old year, cleaning the slate, and preparing to welcome luck and prosperity into the home.
When practical support meets cultural joy
For the families HSCV serves, the Lunar New Year is the most significant week of the year, but the weeks leading up to it can be expensive.
The beginning of the year brings a convergence of needs: the cultural pressure to provide traditional Tết treats, the need to replace worn-out daily essentials, and the significant financial weight of Lucky Money (“Lì xì”).

This is where you come in
As you finalize your goals for the upcoming year, you can help a family in Vietnam start theirs with dignity and the right tools.
We are raising funds now to ensure we can purchase, pack, and deliver Tết Gift Boxes before the Lunar New Year arrives. Your year-end gift before January 29th ensures that when February 17th comes, families are prepared for the year.
HSCV’s Tết Gift Boxes are designed to lift that burden—so families can welcome the new year with dignity, not stress.
Each box includes everyday essentials like socks, scarves, and hygiene items, easing the pressure on parents’ limited household budgets. It also contains traditional Tết treats—cookies, jams, and tea—so families can welcome guests and celebrate just like their neighbors.
Most importantly, the gift box helps restore choice and pride. By covering these tangible needs and supporting our Lì Xì (Lucky Money) fund, families are free to uphold cherished traditions in their own way—starting the new year with confidence, warmth, and hope.
Choose your gift box
We have designed three specific boxes to support families with children at different stages of their growth, plus a dedicated Lucky Money fund.
Or donate any amount of money of your choice to support the sacred tradition of lucky money (“Lì xì”).
This fund provides parents with the dignity of giving traditional blessings of luck and peace to their children and elders.
A gift across the miles
As you enjoy your holiday traditions and celebrate your New Year, you have the power to ensure a family in Vietnam enters their New Year feeling supported, warm, and culturally connected. It is a simple way to share your joy and double the impact of your holiday spirit.
Start your year by making theirs.

Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, and subscribe to our newsletter to see how your donation is changing lives.
2. When will the boxes be delivered?
We collect donations in December and January to purchase supplies in bulk. To ensure our team has time to pack and deliver every box, the deadline for contributions is January 29th.
