YOUTH INVESTMENT PROGRAM (YIP)
Supporting children by ensuring access to comprehensive and tailored services,
empowering them to grow and achieve success in the future.
Program Objectives

Children have access
to comprehensive support
to develop to their fullest potential

Children are well-connected
to support networks beyond their families

Relationships between parents
and children are strengthened

KEY ACTIVITIES
-
We provide tailored support to address the unique needs of each child, from study desks and lamps to bicycles, tuition, and school costs, so they can attend school with dignity
-
We nurture the children’s physical and mental health through nutrition support, sports, and recreational activities, and enhance their access to medical and mental health care through partnering with other organizations
-
In collaboration with local schools, we run youth clubs that provide art, recreation, mentorship, soft-skills training, and learning support. We also train teachers and co-design activities, so every club is fun, meaningful, and teacher-led
-
We partner with parents to build practical parenting skills and awareness of children’s needs. With local community-based organizations, we host camps, family days, and community events that strengthen family and community bonds
“What struck me the most during today's training session was the realization that I can do my best. I recollected my dreams through this class, and I am committed to not letting the lessons go to waste. I will apply all the knowledge you’ve shared with me. I eagerly anticipate participating in more lessons featuring engaging activities and valuable insights."

BLOSSOM PROGRAM
Blossom Program is HSCV’s flagship under the Youth Investment Program. We support lower-secondary students (ages 11 - 14) in rural Vietnam to become confident, resilient and self-reliant by working with the people and systems around them.
WHAT WE DO

Empower students
-
School-based Blossom Clubs meet
-
bi-weekly for sessions led by trained teachers
-
A localized “Inside-Out Skills” curriculum builds social-emotional skills through joyful, art-rich activities, alongside a Self-Reliant Journal for regular self- reflection
-
Students also join extra activities such as outdoor summer camps, receive mentoring, targeted tutoring when needed, and Blossom Future Scholarships, where finances are a barrier
What success look like
Students report stronger self-management and decision-making, stay engaged in school, and feel connected to peers and caring adults
Equip caregivers
We strengthen the “village” around each child with flexible, bite-size parenting guidance designed for busy parents and grandparents: Back-to-School community days, positive-parenting micro-coaching, and the “Journey with Your Child” series for busy caregivers that turns small daily moments into connection and guidance
What success look like
Caregivers better understand the challenges their children face and feel more connected to their children
Transform schools and communities
-
Teachers receive practical training (and coaching sessions) to deliver interactive life-skills education.
-
We partner with local officials, schools and community groups to co-plan, monitor and share results so the model is embedded in school and commune routines
What success look like
Schools have stronger capacity to run playful life-skills sessions and community actors can better sustain holistic youth development practices
