Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering is a great way to support our work! Here’s a list of areas we frequently receive and need volunteers. If you have another way to help us out, send us an email with your ideas.

Community Service Projects (Groups) – Groups of all sizes can have the opportunity to have a hands-on impact on a meaningful project. We welcome groups from schools, universities, community organizations, churches and more to cooperate on a volunteer project. Our team will work with your group to design a project based on your budget, timing, size and age of group and preferences. Contact with details to get started.

Join our Board – We are actively seeking talented and motivated professionals to join our board. While our board is in MN, USA you can live anywhere in the world to join. We are currently seeking individuals knowledgeable in the areas of development, social work, program management, organizational management, grant writing and fundraising. If you fit any of this criteria or feel you have a skill that would be beneficial contact us today for more information.

Professionals – We are actively seeking professionals to support with capacity development of our team. Current areas of need include: project development, marketing, grant writing, and fundraising, as well as social workers and nutritionists and health professionals for the Blossom House.

Event support We frequently hold fundraising events and participate in community functions both in Hanoi and in Minnesota. Volunteers are needed in the lead up and on the day of the event. Send an inquiry to learn about any upcoming events.

Editors Volunteer editors able to assist with HSCV team member generated stories, reports, and family profiles written in English are always in demand. Generally, these pieces are only a few paragraphs long and require a quick turnaround. Volunteers do not need to be based in Ha Noi.

Translators – Translators who can translate letters from English to Vietnamese, and from Vietnamese to English are needed. We require translators for sponsorship exchanges and wheelchair stories. The translations should be completed in a timely manner. Translators do not need to be based in Ha Noi, but it is helpful.

Interns – We are open to receiving both English and Vietnamese speaking interns. Past interns have supported with research, office work, and capacity building in social work, marketing, and program development.

Blossom House –  The Blossom House is our most asked about program. However, we are unable to meet the high number of requests to work at the Blossom House. Any volunteer interested in working at the Blossom House should be able to commit to volunteering for no less than 6 months, however, capacity building (staff and workshops/training for the girls) volunteers may be received for shorter periods on a case by case basis. The Blossom House is a home and as such we are very protective of who we receive in the home.

Fundraising –  Not able to volunteer in person? Why not consider putting on your own fundraising events? Contact us for ideas and support for you event.

All potential volunteers are asked to send CV’s (resumes) and a cover letter highlighting how you feel you can contribute and your availability. Please keep in mind we do not have the capacity to accept all volunteers.

All inquiries should be sent to hscv.info@hscv.org.
