School Scholarships

Without the school scholarships provided by HSCV these wonderful children would be forced to stop attending school.

For only $50 you can sponsor an at risk child with a year of school fees. In return you will receive a photo, biography, and have the opportunity to exchange letters, pictures and drawings with the child.

Donate $50 now, using paypal's safe and secure network

For an additional $205 you can sponsor the child's family with a monthly donation of rice for one year. This donation provides the family with the flexibility to purchase other needed items such as protein, vegetables and clothing.

Nicole Woods

I joined the HSCV team in late 2006, as a volunteer sponsored by the Australian government. While I am new to Ha Noi, I have called Vietnam home since 2004. I previously worked at the Hoi An Street Children’s Centre in Central Vietnam in a variety of capacities. My work at the Centre was varied and rewarding, everything from fundraising, to taking children to the hospital, teaching English to providing emotional support. I continue to have ongoing involvement with the children at the Centre and am convinced that they will always hold a very special place in my heart.

During my time in Central Vietnam, I was also heavily involved in implementing school scholarship programs for poor children, particularly from fishing and rural villages, and managed a number of volunteer programs and delivered volunteer training.

Prior to working in Vietnam, I practiced as a corporate lawyer in Australia for a number of years, after graduating from university with both a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science degrees. While working in Vietnam, I have had many opportunities to test the application of my education in psychology, especially in working closely with adolescents trying to find their place in the world.

During my time in Vietnam, I have drawn heavily on the skills acquired in my professional working capacity. I hope to further draw on those skills in working with the HSCV team to develop a strategically focused organization that implements development initiatives creating real and lasting positive changes in the lives of the children of Vietnam.
