School Scholarships
Without the school scholarships provided by HSCV these wonderful children would be forced to stop attending school. For only $50 you can sponsor an at risk child with a year of school fees. In return you will receive a photo, biography, and have the opportunity to exchange letters, pictures and drawings with the child. Donate $50 now, using paypal's safe and secure network For an additional $205 you can sponsor the child's family with a monthly donation of rice for one year. This donation provides the family with the flexibility to purchase other needed items such as protein, vegetables and clothing. Donate $255 now, using paypal's safe and secure network. Portions of your donation to any of direct sponsorship options will be used to support other HSCV programs where funding may be lacking. |

I was born and grew up in Hanoi. I am now married and have a lovely son. In 1996, I graduated from Agricultural University Number I – Hanoi, with a Bachelor of Science specializing in Sericulture (commercial breeding of silkworms). In 1998, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, specializing in translation and interpretation skills, from Hanoi Foreign Language University. Throughout my career I have held various positions, such as Assistant Manager of a Rattan & Bamboo Shop and Manager of The Bookworm. I have worked as Medical Anthropological Research Trainee/ Research Assistant for the project entitled “Towards a Continuum of Care in Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission Programs” a program funded by the Medical Committee Netherlands–Vietnam which focuses on preventing the transmission of HIV from mother to baby. In addition to my work with HSCV, I am the translator and transcriber for the project: “Renovating Men: Urban Masculinity Models and Change in Post Doi-Moi Vietnam”. This is a PhD project under the Department of Anthropology, School of Gender Studies, University of Melbourne, and co-hosted by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in HCMC. The project focuses on changes in masculine attitudes since Doi Moi, particularly in the area of reproductive health. I have also worked as a tutor for over 9 years, teaching Vietnamese to English speakers of competency levels. I was introduced to HSCV by Ms. Chau, who works for HSCV at the time. I love children and I love working in the charity area. My favorite quote is “ O hien gap lanh” – which loosely translates to “what goes around, comes around”. I would like to remain with HSCV in the future and I hope that I can make a positive contribution to the organization so we can help the needy children in Vietnam. To
