School Scholarships
Without the school scholarships provided by HSCV these wonderful children would be forced to stop attending school. For only $50 you can sponsor an at risk child with a year of school fees. In return you will receive a photo, biography, and have the opportunity to exchange letters, pictures and drawings with the child. Donate $50 now, using paypal's safe and secure network For an additional $205 you can sponsor the child's family with a monthly donation of rice for one year. This donation provides the family with the flexibility to purchase other needed items such as protein, vegetables and clothing. Donate $255 now, using paypal's safe and secure network. Portions of your donation to any of direct sponsorship options will be used to support other HSCV programs where funding may be lacking. |

Growing up in the small town of Badger, in northwestern MN, I moved to Minneapolis and attended the University of Minnesota where I received a B.A. degree in Communication Studies in 2000. It was at the U of M that I became acquainted with the Asian community and partook in their functions and activities. During school I dabbled in politics while working at a political consulting firm for a couple of years and after school I worked for an airline company for awhile. In 2001, I decided to return to the University of MN to work in their Purchasing Department as an Assistant Buyer and also took the opportunity to pursue more schooling. In 2003, I was accepted to Graduate School and enrolled in economic development and policy courses at the Humphrey Institute. At the same time I was a Big Brother to an inner-city youth and was also teaching English to immigrants and refugees in Minneapolis. I then decided to gain international experience and traveled to Vietnam. I arrived in Vietnam in June 2004 with the Catalyst Foundation and volunteered in their 2 week Aid Expedition in Ho Chi Minh City , Nha Trang and Da Lat. In July I moved to Hanoi where I had arranged to spend a few months with HSCV. Those 3 months turned in to a few years of wonderful and successful grassroots development experience. |
