School Scholarships
Without the school scholarships provided by HSCV these wonderful children would be forced to stop attending school. For only $50 you can sponsor an at risk child with a year of school fees. In return you will receive a photo, biography, and have the opportunity to exchange letters, pictures and drawings with the child. Donate $50 now, using paypal's safe and secure network For an additional $205 you can sponsor the child's family with a monthly donation of rice for one year. This donation provides the family with the flexibility to purchase other needed items such as protein, vegetables and clothing. Donate $255 now, using paypal's safe and secure network. Portions of your donation to any of direct sponsorship options will be used to support other HSCV programs where funding may be lacking. |

Families in Vietnam place a proper education amongst the highest of priories. However, even though Vietnam is a Socialist country education is not free. Costs to attend public schools vary around the country, but in general families are required to cover the costs of supplies, uniforms, and school maintenance fees. HSCV provides Educational Scholarships for primary, secondary and high school education. Scholarships are paid directly to the educational facility (public or private schools) at the beginning of each school year (August-September each year) to pay for expenses related to tuition, books and extra classes/tutoring. The purpose is to provide the children an opportunity to create a better future for both themselves and for their families through education. Costs of education have proven to be a major barrier for child’s education and as a result, many children drop out of school. Children from families who rely mostly on agriculture as their primary income frequently enter school at later age and many students fail exams and repeat grades. When enrolling in primary school and secondary school older than most of the classmates, students see themselves older and less successful than their classmates. In addition, older children as well as higher direct cost of schooling (higher direct costs required higher grades), increase the marginal cost of education, yet again increasing the financial burden for families. Many of the children that HSCV currently sponsors are school dropouts who are given a second chance for better future through the educational scholarship program. Children that drop out of school tend to migrate to cities to work and are an easy and fragile target for human traffickers. Unless children are given an opportunity for education, the circle of continuous poverty is hard to crack. With your donation we can help break this poverty circle.
