School Scholarships
Without the school scholarships provided by HSCV these wonderful children would be forced to stop attending school. For only $50 you can sponsor an at risk child with a year of school fees. In return you will receive a photo, biography, and have the opportunity to exchange letters, pictures and drawings with the child. Donate $50 now, using paypal's safe and secure network For an additional $205 you can sponsor the child's family with a monthly donation of rice for one year. This donation provides the family with the flexibility to purchase other needed items such as protein, vegetables and clothing. Donate $255 now, using paypal's safe and secure network. Portions of your donation to any of direct sponsorship options will be used to support other HSCV programs where funding may be lacking. |

March 3rd, 2005 If I ever needed a reason to return to Vietnam it is here, in the following letter I received from Van Anh. During the six months I spent in Hanoi in 2004 Van Anh, her father and I spent countless hours visiting numerous doctors. We were seeking solutions for her severely disfigured legs, and heart disease. Her case is so difficult it was a challenge just to find doctors willing to examine her. During this time I was informed that her older brother also suffered from heart disease. By the end of 2004 she and her brother had both recovered from very successful open heart surgeries. Van Anh’s legs are still disfigured, but she has been attending physical therapy and has begun to develop much needed muscle mass. It is hoped corrective surgery will be performed during the summer of 2005. The
following was given to me by Van Anh, shortly before I was to Here is my reason. Dear Ms. Annetta, September 2004 I am so lucky to have met you, Mr. Chuck De Vet and Mr. Corey. Thanks to your enthusiastic attention I now have a chance to live, recover from my disease and study. I can feel that my health has improved a lot; I can now walk with less difficulties. I thank God for bringing you to me. Now matter how hard my parents try having two children with inborn heart disease, they can not support our operations. All they can do is swallow their tears inside, because they are unable to raise enough money. Having healthy children is their greatest dream, and now their dream is gradually becoming true. How happy we are! However, I am now very sad. Do you know why? It’s because you are leaving. I’m thinking about the day I get out of operation room. The people I want to see first are you, your father, Miss. Trang, Uncle Corey and my parents. I will be really happy at that time. It’s you and HSCV who give me as well as my brother second life. I know Corey is very good and he always takes good care of me, but he’s male so he cannot understand feminine matters. Is that right? I promise you that when I recover from the operation and go back to school, I will try my best to learn English so that I can talk with you in English. Though I know you are very busy with work, please let me know about you and your family situation if possible. I wish you and HSCV good health, good luck, prosperity much more. I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon. Best regards, Sincerely yours, Nguyen Thi Van Anh She is MY reason. Annetta De Vet Vice President HSCV |
