School Scholarships

Without the school scholarships provided by HSCV these wonderful children would be forced to stop attending school.

For only $50 you can sponsor an at risk child with a year of school fees. In return you will receive a photo, biography, and have the opportunity to exchange letters, pictures and drawings with the child.

For an additional $205 you can sponsor the child's family with a monthly donation of rice for one year. This donation provides the family with the flexibility to purchase other needed items such as protein, vegetables and clothing.

Portions of your donation to any of direct sponsorship options will be used to support other HSCV programs where funding may be lacking.
 

 

HSCV 5K Walk/Run

Please join Humanitarian services for Vietnam (HSCV) on our inaugural 5km fun run, as we raise funds to help Thao, a brave young girl from Vietnam. Since the age of five, she has lived with severe burns covering her face, scalp and body. In 2007, with the support of HSCV, Thao traveled to The Shriner's hospital in Sacramento CA, and begun receiving a series of treatments designed to improve her burn scars and change her life. Since this time, through HSCV’s financial sponsorship and the dedication of many, Thao has thrived. She is a devoted student, excelling in English and mathematics, and she has made many new friends through her bubbly personality and quirky sense of humor.

There is still plenty of work to be done. Doctors are working on Thao’s face with the help of a technique involving skin expanders. She has already received two surgeries, resulting in increased maneuverability and allowing her to dress herself, tie her shoes, and grasp pens. The doctors would ideally like to continue these surgeries and give Thao the best possible use of her hands.

We have extended early registration until May 17th. The cost to participate is $30 before May 17th and $35 after. All participants must register on the day between 8:00 am – 9:00 am. The 5K Run begins at 9:30 with the 5K Walk following at 9:45am. The event will be held rain or shine, please no pets. Do to the charity nature of the event refunds, exchanges or transfers will not be allowed.

HSCV is a small organization and it can be difficult for us to fund one child on an ongoing basis. We need YOUR help in order to continue our sponsorship of Thao. Money raised from the 5k Run Walk will go towards providing Thao with financial assistance required for her living expenses and education while in America.

We want to help Thao to reach her dreams. Through YOUR enthusiasm, anything is possible.

Humanitarian Services for Children of Vietnam was incorporated in September 2001. The organization was granted 501(c)(3) status by the Internal Revenue Service in April 2002. All donations to the organization are fully tax deductible. HSCV is a non-sectarian organization, unaffiliated with any other organization.
