School Scholarships

Without the school scholarships provided by HSCV these wonderful children would be forced to stop attending school.

For only $50 you can sponsor an at risk child with a year of school fees. In return you will receive a photo, biography, and have the opportunity to exchange letters, pictures and drawings with the child.

Donate $50 now, using paypal's safe and secure network

For an additional $100 a year you can sponsor the child's family with a monthly donation of rice. This donation will provide the family with a much needed opportunity to purchase other necessities, such as vegetables, meat and personal items such as clothing and shoes.

School Scholarships for students in Soc Son - In addition to a Rice Distribution Program we have recently established a Scholarship Program for children who are risk of dropping out of school or who have already dropped out of school.

September 11th & 12th - Wheelchair Distributions, Thanh Hoa Province - We have recently received our 3rd container of 550 wheelchairs. The distribution was kicked of with distributions in 3 communities in Thanh Hoa Province. All 550 wheelchairs will be distributed in Thanh Hoa Province. Thanh Hoa is the largest Province in Northern Vietnam. There is a great need for wheelchairs in Thanh Hoa.

The wheelchair program is one of the few programs HSCV oversees where the primary focus is not on children.

September 13th - Sister School donation at Trung Gia B, Primary School - Money was raised by the 3rd grade students at Tesseract School in Egan, MN. This is the third year Tesseract has participated in the Sister School program.

This year the students at the Trung Gia Primary School B each received 10 notebooks. Most children are unable to purchase text books, so notebooks become a vital tool for their education. Typically students will use 30 - 40 notebooks a year.

September 17th - Play Date with the children at the Friendship Home III - Visitors from Australia brought gifts for the children living at the Friendship Home III. Gifts included individualize bracelets, bags and hats, as well as balls and other toys. In addition books, notebooks and pens were donated to assist with the implementation of an ESL program at the center, sponsored by HSCV, that will take begin the last week in September.

The day ended with fun, games and a few water balloons! It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

September 23rd - Ceremony for distribution of 200 wheelchairs - Thanh Hoa Province - Members from HSCV's partner GIBTK as well as members from Free Wheelchair Mission (FWM) joined HSCV for this ceremony. FWM is the producer/donors of the wheelchairs.

Two hundred individuals representing 10 communes attended the ceremony. Some individuals traveled several hours to receive their new wheelchairs. Friends and family members used motorbikes, bicycles, carts, and cyclos to assist them in their travels.

September 25th - 30th - Distribution of Wheelchairs - Over the week 200 wheelchairs were distributed in various Districts in Thanh Hoa Province.

Thanh Hoa is the 2nd largest province in Viet Nam. An entire container of 550 wheelchairs was sent to Thanh Hoa. It is estimated that Thanh Hoa will need 2 - 3 more containers to meet the needs of the province.
