School Scholarships

Without the school scholarships provided by HSCV these wonderful children would be forced to stop attending school.

For only $50 you can sponsor an at risk child with a year of school fees. In return you will receive a photo, biography, and have the opportunity to exchange letters, pictures and drawings with the child.

Donate $50 now, using paypal's safe and secure network

For an additional $100 a year you can sponsor the child's family with a monthly donation of rice. This donation will provide the family with a much needed opportunity to purchase other necessities, such as vegetables, meat and personal items such as clothing and shoes.

March Activities

March 27th - Thanh Hoa Orphanage

On the morning of the 27th team members Chuck, Annetta and Rose paid a visit to the children at the Thanh Hoa Orphanage.

"We were greeted with smiles and tears of joy," said Annetta. It had been over a month since we had been able to visit.

The purpose of the visit was to purchase rice for the children and milk for the babies. There are currently 6 children under 12 months and an additional 50 children under 18 years old.

HSCV began supporting this orphanage in February of 2006.

March 27th - The last stop in Thanh Hoa was at the City Orthopedic Hospital. Ten children will be sponsored with minor orthopedic and skin surgeries. The cause of the deformities where mostly accidental, such as falling out of a tree and hot water burns.

The cost of these minor operations is approximately $125 USD.

March 26 - Ice Cream Party - Birla held a day of competitions. Children participated in events, such as; table tennis, bad mitten, football and singing. The day was planed by the children who live at Birla.

HSCV team members and volunteers were present to watch the competitions and play with the children. We also provided the children with an Trang Tien ice cream treat. Trang Tien is the most famous ice cream in Vietnam. It was a very special treat for the children.

March 10 & 16 - Wheel Chair Donations - Over 350 wheelchairs were donated this month. The recipients included children as well as adults.

Many of the recipients have been confined to walls of their homes for their entire lives. Their new wheelchairs will allow them to join the world and society beyond their homes.
