School Scholarships

Without the school scholarships provided by HSCV these wonderful children would be forced to stop attending school.

For only $50 you can sponsor an at risk child with a year of school fees. In return you will receive a photo, biography, and have the opportunity to exchange letters, pictures and drawings with the child.

Donate $50 now, using paypal's safe and secure network

For an additional $205 you can sponsor the child's family with a monthly donation of rice for one year. This donation provides the family with the flexibility to purchase other needed items such as protein, vegetables and clothing.

Donate $255 now, using paypal's safe and secure network.

Portions of your donation to any of direct sponsorship options will be used to support other HSCV programs where funding may be lacking.

Auditory Assistance Program

Ongoing Projects

In the spring of 2002 HSCV was introduced to a group of learning impaired children at the Hoai Duc medical clinic. Some of these children had multiple physical and/or mental handicaps. Others had only a hearing deficiency. In that the clinic is not equipped to appropriately treat hearing impairment the children were treated as though they were mentally handicapped. Each day these children came to the clinic to receive treatment which was provided solely by acupuncture. This is the only equipment the clinic has available for the treatment of these children. An additional hardship is that each child being treated must be accompanied by a family member. The family member is responsible for providing personal daily care for the child. In that every family member is needed to work to provide for a family’s daily needs one less worker can drastically impact a family’s well-being.

In September of 2002 Project Vietnam introduced HSCV to an audiology team from Brigham Young University. This team agreed to treat the hearing impaired children from Hoai Duc during their visit to Hanoi in October, 2002. Thirteen of these children were tested and fitted with life changing hearing aids. Four of the children will require surgery and HSCV is currently trying to make arrangements to have this surgery preformed. The absence of the necessary medical equipment in Vietnam to perform this surgery has hindered our efforts in this regard. These four children were examined and had great hope that they would be helped. When we advised them that we could not help them at this time they were devastated. They knew that we were their only hope. We will continue our efforts to solve the problem regarding the availability of the necessary equipment and hopefully we will find a solution.

The hearing aids provided for the children from Hoai Duc were donated by the The Hearing Foundation. A team from BYU tested and fit the eligible children with hearing aids.

Due to a number of causes many children in Vietnam have hearing deficiencies. Treatment for them is very, very limited. An untreated hearing impairment can have particularly devastating consequences in a developing country such as Vietnam. HSCV will continue our efforts to provide whatever assistance we can for these children.

Humanitarian Services for Children of Vietnam was incorporated in September 2001. The organization was granted 501(c)(3) status by the Internal Revenue Service in April 2002. All donations to the organization are fully tax deductible. HSCV is a non-sectarian organization, unaffiliated with any other organization.
